About

We pull the most vulnerable cat populations from local “high kill shelters” into foster care until the kittens are old enough for adoption or adult cats needing medical care are recovered. We provide urgent medical care, foster services and find permanent homes for kittens in need.

Who We Are

Small Lives Matter Kitten Rescue is a new 501(c)3 nonprofit charitable animal rescue organization. We are a network of volunteer fosters dedicated to providing urgent care to neonate and sick kittens in need of life saving support. We provide a haven in a family home environment to kittens until they are thriving, ready for spay or neuter surgery and then adoption to permanent homes. Our foster based kitten rescue is located in Ponte Vedra, Florida. We serve St John’s county and St Augustine.

What We Do

  • We pull the most vulnerable cat populations from local “high kill shelters” into foster care.

  • We keep community cats (stray, ownerless cats) out of shelters, by supporting trap-neuter-return (TNR) in St Johns county. We will take kittens from cat colonies into foster care until they are old enough for adoption.

  • We publicly share our annual animal statistics and lifesaving percentage, are transparent about the number of animals that come under our care, and the outcome for all those animals.

  • We will engage in other activities related to educating the public concerning homeless animals as necessary to meet the continuing challenge of animal welfare.

  • While our goal is to get as many cats into homes as possible, we want them home for life. To that end, Phase 2 Small Lives Matter Kitten Rescue will develop a humane education program to help pet owners resolve the most common behavior and medical issues and a surrender protection program designed to helped under-served families.
